Since completing his Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws at Deakin University, Satbir has practiced exclusively in Family and Relationship Law. After completing his degree Satbir worked for two years as a Judge’s Associate at the then Federal Circuit Court of Australia in the Family and Relationship Law jurisdiction. From there, he worked in a Melbourne law firm practicing exclusively in all areas of family law before moving to Geelong.
Satbir appreciates the added emotional complexities which often confront his clients and looks for practical and collaborative solutions. He prides himself on delivering practical and client focused solutions to complex and difficult family law matters, across both parenting and property issues.
Satbir regularly appears in the Federal Circuit Court and Family Court of Australia as well as the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria.
In 2021, Satbir won the Lawyers Weekly 30 under 30 award for Family Law. The award is a national award which averages more than 700 nominations annually. It recognises and rewards young rising stars within the legal industry aged 30 and under who excel in their chosen field, displaying key leadership qualities such as dedication, professionalism, and eagerness to grow both themselves and their firm. In 2020, Satbir was also recognised as a finalist in the awards.
In 2022, Satbir was recognised as a Rising Star by his peers in the Doyles Guide. In 2023 and 2024 Satbir was recognised as a Recommended Lawyer and in 2024 and 2025 was recognised as a Leading Lawyer in the field of family and relationship law.
Satbir has acted in various matters which have been recorded in the Federal Circuit Court and Family Court of Australia, including the appeal division, and the High Court of Australia. Satbir’s practice extends to all areas of the Surf Coast and Melbourne.
Outside of his practice, Satbir has a keen interest in all sports, particularly cricket and football. In his spare time, Satbir enjoys managing the Junior Program at his local cricket club.
